Education without morality only makes one a cleaver devil. It’s better to never go to school and have no values than to go to the best institutions of education and lack personal discipline ... Mbugua Mumbi

Becoming an ‘A’ Student in Life is a compass for high school and college students to help them address the myriad of challenges confronting them in today’s world. It attempts to pragmatically address the challenges of identity crisis, technology, low self esteem, peer pressure, competition, drugs and alcoholism, academic excellence, relationships, single parenting, career choices and others. This book helps you to make informed choices, both in the short and long time.

Choices have consequences and whereas you have power over your choices, you are helpless on the consequences. Your choices today determine your destiny.

This book is as a result of research conducted by students over a two year period.

Who am I? What can I become in this life? How can I become? Do I have the same talents, capabilities and potential as other great people I admire? Can I really overcome my past and current circumstances and become a successful person in future? How can I firmly take charge of my destiny? How do I manage life pressures and distractions?

Becoming an ‘A’ Student in Life offers a simple, balanced, practical and realistic approach to charting the right direction in life. No one has written your destiny for you, because in this world, you write your own destiny. You make your own future. That's what young people like you must do every day of their lives. That’s what this book is all about.

Reading this book is not enough. Whatever you resolve to do, I want you to commit to it. I want you to really work at it. I know that sometimes you get that sense from TV and other media  that you can be rich and successful without any hard work -- that your ticket to success is through rapping, football, basketball or being a media personality. Chances are that you aren’t going to be any of those things. The truth is, being successful is no flash in the pan. You won't love every subject that you study. You won't click with every teacher that you have. Not every homework assignment will be like ‘chicken and chips’ to you.

But you have a choice!
